The Skeletons


Millions of creatures are living on the Earth, among which 1.3 million are animals. They coexist with people on the same planet in various forms. Animal skeletons are derived from constant evolution, and researches on skeletons could reveal the development of animals. Although skeletons are different in structures, functions and origins, they are vital to animals without doubts. Diverse species may have certain connections in terms of skeletons.

The Skeletons exhibition, focusing on animal skeletons, combines science and recreation. Besides specimens, the exhibition features audio, animation and interactive exhibits, displaying scientific knowledge as well as the beauty of structures. Many interesting stories about animal skeletons are shown in the exhibition, such as Panda’s "thumb" and the sixth toe, magnificent horns of even-toed ungulate, mysterious Tibetan scripts on yak skull, strange scars on the legs of bison, flexible fingers of primates, sharp teeth of a carnivore and the origin of colorful corals.
